The Practice

-Trent Shelton

The key to therapeutic services is to make sure there is a level of comfort for the client to build rapport and explore experiences without feeling shame or judgement. On the first session (also known as the intake session), you will have the opportunity to review and complete all necessary paperwork and ask the therapist, Stephanie, any questions you may have.

At the onset of therapy, Stephanie will explain her theoretical orientation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, which are the theories used to understand your story to assist  with creating achievable goals to guide you on your journey.

Contrary to past views of therapy, you do not necessarily need a severe mental health diagnosis to see a therapist. Stephanie has a practice comprised of “your average day professionals.” Whether you are a content creator, parent, or a traveling nurse we are ALL going through something. So why go through it alone? Stephanie helps by increasing perspective, providing coping skills, and identifying action steps for you to engage in while managing your emotions, thoughts, and feelings.

How long is treatment?

Therapy can occur on a short-term or long-term basis. After the intake session, Stephanie will identify the best approach for you.
